NSF HSI National STEM Resource Hub Offers Virtual Workshops in February and March

Updated: Sep 22, 2022

By Kimberly Mann Bruch

Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) faculty and staff will have the opportunity to prepare and submit grant applications for the National Science Foundation (NSF) HSI and other programs via Granstmanship Mini-Workshops.

To support these efforts, the NSF HSI National STEM Resource Hub is offering half-day Grantsmanship Mini-Workshops for HSI faculty and staff during February and March 2022. Participation in these virtual workshops is free, but limited to 24 attendees to enable small group discussion and networking. Workshops are scheduled to convene from 8am to 1pm (PST).

The two-day 2019 HSI Training and Collaboration Workshop, which was held at the University of Washington eScience Institute in Seattle, provided an overview of data science methods, as well as tools and approaches for incorporating data science in the STEM curriculum. The upcoming 2022 workshops will be structured in a similar fashion, but will be held in a virtual format.

Applications are located at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/miniworkshop-spr2022

Additional workshop details are as follows:

February 11 - Preparing an NSF CAREER application (for junior faculty)

February 18 - Program evaluation for STEM education grant proposals

March 4 - Revising an NSF proposal for resubmission

March 18 - Designing research questions for STEM education grant proposals

Please also note that the NSF has issued a new HSI Program Solicitation (22-545) and it is posted here: https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2022/nsf22545/nsf22545.htm.

We encourage the community to share this professional development opportunity and if you have any questions about this workshop, be sure to contact us at hsihub-admin@nmsu.edu.
